Fotoshoot in Åre

Gothenburg and CBJO

I arrived to Gothenburg with the night train from Åre on thursday morning and met up with My Svensson at her home and prepared for Chalmers Big Jump Open the next day. I felt a bit sick and tried to sleep all day while My was at work. We went to the arena the same evening and saw this really sketchy jump with a gap to a really short landing. It looked really crazy and exciting for sure! But we did a few hits together with including Malin Johansson and Johanna Holmstedt and some of the other riders. It felt ok and it was a new experience hitting a jump like that =)

On saturday, the contest day, we had a fun and pretty nervous time hitting the jump. Just maybe a third of the competitor stood in the landing and unfortunately there were some small injuries during the day. It was difficult! =) In the finals I hit my head and hurt my foot. The kicker, inrun and the circumstances made me ride far below my ability and the other girls felt the same. I guess the guys had the same feeling. But it was fun anyways!

After a great dinner it was awesome party and dancing all night long on Valands! Thanks for a great and really fun weekend!!

In Åre for a few days

Sitting in Åregården with Robert in this rustc, cozy, big room with old armchairs and sofas. We´ve been in Åre now for four days living in this luxury hotell with so good food and really nice buffet breakfast. Roberts dad and family went home the day before yesterday but we were fortunate to stay for two more days snowboarding and having it nice! 

The Bräckepark was awesome this monday with almost springshredding. We hit the "five jump in row line" jumps and the railline all day and it was so much fun. The rest of the days in the park was though a struggle with iceslopes and so hard landings. 

But I did a fotoshoot with the photographer Niclas Mugnusson in the railline and we got some nice pictures and it was so much fun!! I will upload the photos here when I will get them from him.

Yesterday I got sick (again) so today is one of theese moviedays with hundred cups of tea with honey.

A review of the Mayrhofen trip

In Mayrhofen. It´s raining in the village and it´s so strange warm to be in the middle of january. Sitting on a internetcafé with the snowboarders Anna Engstrand from Sweden and Elena Könz from Switzerland.

Unfortunately (wich sucks when you´re making a blog) I didn´t have my camera with me but I have a few pictures from my phone...

I arrived yesterday evening after a long day of travel. But two flights later and a lot of pain in my sinuses (because of the height difference) I was there.
The organizers for sista session are really nice! The invited riders are staying at a hotel in the middle of Mayrhofen and the standard is ok with breakfast included. It´s crazy how much the austrian people love white bread in this country. Where is the protein??

 

This morning we went up to the park just to check it out (still feeling sick). It was so snowy on the top that you could hardly see anything but the little I saw looked really great with a lot of boxes and rails and som nice kickers.
It´s gonna be awesome to see all the girls ride tomorrow at the fotoshoot! (If the wheather is better will say.)
Dinner with Elena, My Svensson and Alexandra Unger at the restaurant  "La Vita" where Anna is working. My and Alex arrived the same day from Sweden and it was awesome to see them again and I´m looking forward to ride with them for a few days.

20 jan

After breakfast we went to the slopes for some fotoshoots with the "sistas" (the invited snowboarders). But when we came up to the park it was so snowy and foggy so the fotoshoot had to wait untill the afternoon. We had some parkruns and everything felt strange for me. I was still tired in my body and I could hardly not see anything because of the fog. We went to a slope in the forest for jibbing a pipe. After two runs I hit my knee so hard that I couldn´t ride anymore that day. 

We had dinner at a little restaurant for all invited riders and media people. Hamburgers were served. We went to bed early after a couple of episodes of the tv-show weeds.

The qualificationday (still kind of sick) and My, Alexandra and Anna were competing among others. They did so god and My and Anna qualified to the finals the next day.
The railcontest was really fun and we hiked the setup for like an hour and I took place in the finals the next day. It was a downflatbox and a downflatrail. Kind of nice setup and I did a few tricks I was happy with. Alex really should have take place as well but the judges missed that big time!

Finalday and I was feeling a little bit better than before! I was so nervous for the slopestylecontest. As I  said I had almost not been hitting any jumps before this contest but I had a fun time. I was though really frustrated and disapointed at myself that I didn´t stood up in the landing of the last kicker. I had so much problems with that kicker! Better luck next time and then I will be there a lot more prepared. My Svensoon wan a one year sponsorship for Rip Curl when she was in the finals as a nonsponsor rider. The railjam was awesome, I got on fifth place even though the audiance and myself thought I would have been on third place. I did some hardways, fs lips and fsblunts but the girl who wan was shredding as a really good guy. Her name is Ana Rumiha from Croatia.

Party all night long untill I got up at 5.30 for a 16 hours travelday to Åre and meet up with Robert and family.

Kind of a big flue

It´s hard to be happy when you know there is so many funny, crazy, happy, cool, awesome things happening outside the door... in the snow... in the streets... in the park... in some hidden backyard somewhere... on a roof... on a mountain... on a wall... (I can keep going forever) when you know that you can´t be there with the great people that´s hitting everything. But I know for sure I´m gonna be out there soon and that makes me hopeful! Because, come one!! It´s just kind of a big flue =) Going to Mayrhofen tomorrow with my sinusitis and lots of medicine that´s gonna kill it all.

Sick...still...

This is not ok! I´m still sick and my face hurts! Please someone, give me something magic so that I can feel like myself again...

Mayrhofen

This is crazy, but unbelievably I won the Rip Curl Sista Session Video Clip Contest so I´m going to Mayrhofen next week =) We will have a fotoshoot wednesday-thursday and friday-saturday there will be a slopestyle and railcompetition. Ok, I haven´t been jumping much at all this winter because I have been riding a lot of rails instead. So no expectations! But it´s gonna be fun to meet a lot of girls who loves to ride as I do and I´m looking forward to the fotoshoot! And when I´m coming home from the Mayrhofentrip I will directly fly to Åre and meet up with Robert and his family =)

Sinusitis (bihåleinflammation)

I went to doctor today because I´m so sick of feeling sick! It has been ups and downs with my cold for over a month now. I came home with medicine for way too much money and with the diagnosis of sinusitis (bihåleinflammation). So I have to rest for a couple of days untill I´m feeling a little bit better. That sucks! Because I´m so snowobardpepped right now! Let´s watch some movies tonight...

Streetsession in Stockholm

This sunday me and Robert went to a place just outside Stockholm to hit a pretty sketchy rail-to-drop thing. It was me, Robert, Philip Grund, Erik Karlsson, Viktor Wiberg and the photographer Jove.

After a long day of rest me and Robert met up with the guys from the day before to hit a downrail on a secret spot =) I have been feeling pretty sick for a while, so I had to take it easy because I had a lot of headache and was feeling a bit low.

But it was fun anyways and the downrail was high!! The landing was hard and it was not easy to stand up but I made it some of the hits! The rest of the crew did some really crazy tricks on the rail!

Yesterday was a fun day

Yesterday I was out shredding a streetspot with Caroline Degardh and Linda Fahlström Diego in Hammarby sjöstad in Stockholm. We found a little "stallräcke" that we got some pretty cool pictures at. (The pictures will be here soon.) We were there just for a while and when it started to get dark I took the train back to Uppsala again.


The day ended with some shredding on our backyardrail, the one that´s fucking awesome! (Ok, I´m gonna stop saying that now.)

Fucking awesome and some deep thoughts

Just after I wrote the blog post here below me, Robert and Philip went out hitting a downrail in the backyard behind our house in Uppsala. The fucking awesome rail has just been fixed (welded, grounded, assembled) of a really grumpy version of supermario with the name Masse. He has been working on this rail for two days and now it´s finished and, as I said, it´s fucking awesome!

Sometimes some things feels like a long struggle. (Oh, that´s deep) And I hate when it feels like that when it comes to snowboard. When it feels like I´ve lost it! That I´ve lost my shreddingskills and my "shreddingpepp"! Of course this is just temporary and I´m gonna feel the "pepp" again. But theese sad periods of "I don´t wanna snowboard today" is terrible!
So let´s go out there and get the "pepp" back! =)

That´s exactly what we did and all of a sudden it feels damn good again!

My old little promo fom 09

This little promo is two years old. I did it myself from scratch and I´m still a beginner of editing. Haha, it was fun but when I look at it now I must say I´m not that proud of the result =) But here it is anyways.

Summary of December

It´s about time I start this blog. I´m gonna write mostly about snowboard because I guess this will be kind of a snowboardblog about me and my friends.
I´m really suprised I´m doing this when I even think it´s hard and not interesting at all to write statusupdates on facebook. But this will be something else! =)

I´m in Uppsala now. And I´m gonna be here and in big Stockholm in januari. That´s the plan for now. But plans can change.

In december I spend some great time in Sälen and Åre. I did some railcompetitions that I did good in. Learned a few new tricks and got some pretty nice pictures. Unfortunately I got a cold that stopped me from snowboarding for over a week. Some of it is still hanging on there but I´m snowboarding anyways.

I went to Sundsvall for a railcompetition and me, Sisi Cavretti and Erika Kolbert killed it on the downrail! =)

In the beginning of this month it was premiertime for the Nitro movie "Enough said" in Tandådalen. The movie is good, check it out! A lot of crazyness, happy people, preseasonshredding and some bottles of "rötjut" (swedish for red wine). Yes it was nice!

The photographer Otto Norin (his homepage) and I did a little nightsession in Åre for an hour and got some fun pictureresults. We found a little ledge on a parkingplace, just outside the house where I was staying for a few days, that looked pretty nice.

I had a great time in Åre! I wan the "Forum fucking railjam" last qualification and had an awesome time shredding and stomped my tricks as planned. In the finals though I tried exactly the same tricks but nothing worked. Shit happens! Just move on!! =) Sisi Cavretti got first and she was awesome!

In december I also spend some time with the Boardstorecrew. I was there as the Boardstorefriend. Of course! Since I ride for Junkyard. We had an awesome weekend with some surfing, party, a lot of laughes and a little snowboardcompetition.
I hope the picture that Jonathan Nylander took at med riding the Pinkpark car in the competition in Lindvallen, soon will be published somewhere. Otherwise I will soon put it in this blog =)

Me and some friends spend almost a week in the beginning of december in Sälen shredding the park in Lindvallen. Anders Carnebro made a fun little edit of  preseasonshredding. Here is the clip

One really surprising and great thing that happened in december was that I got Transition Magazines price for “best female parkshredder” this year! 

I now the Burton European Open in Laax´s coming up soon but I decided to stay here in Sweden and film some streetspots with my boyfriend Robert Sandgren and Philip Grund and some friends from here.

I haven´t been riding a lot of streetspots before but I´m so excited to start doing that. It´s gonna be awesome shredding I hope!
